Dyno
TL;DW: Dyno is a lot like Mojo, but for intensity instead of loudness.
I’ll be quick: some family stuff is up and I’m running late, but I’ve got a plugin all the same.
Except it isn’t all the same. It’s similar in some ways to Mojo (from last week), but Dyno has a completely different character. Instead of loudenating, it ‘intensenates’. It’s a little bit like Remap in that way, but it’s not the same as Remap. You won’t get a volume boost out of it really, nor will it let you slam it for fatter peaks.
Instead, it brings fire and intensity to the audio and reshapes the waveform in a Mojo-like ‘evolution of Spiral’ way. Because it doesn’t take to slamming in the same way, it’s going to be a more subtle effect, but for those who got excited by Remap, this one deserves your attention.
Because some stuff’s come up, I can’t guarantee the usual Airwindows stuff a week from now. Might have to skip a week for plugins, or fail to do the Monday livestream (tomorrow should be good though). Since I’ve put out a plugin (some quite good) for the last 27 weeks without a break (over half a year without a pause!) I am hoping me and you both can handle a hiccup in the pedal-to-the-metal Airwindows free plugin release schedule: I do my best, but it’s just me up here and I might need to take a week to take care of things. I’m just saying, ‘cos people might freak out and think I died. Not yet! So far as I know! :)
Oh, and the results are in for ‘dislike and subscribe’: it was a fun experiment, but it didn’t do anything. You can keep disliking videos if you really want to, so long as you enjoy the actual plugins.
If so, by all means go and add $50 a year (or heck, a dollar) to my Patreon and I will get back to the maniacal ferocity of incessant plugin-making as soon as I can. I definitely need to take a breath and get my bearings: it’s getting so some people can’t handle it without a roadmap and/or curated collections, and maybe that would be another kind of release I could do, namely designed sets of plugins that serve as starting points. We shall see. Have fun playing with Mojo and Dyno and Biquad etc etc, and feel free to throw ideas for me to consider while I un-clench and take a breath for the first time in half a year! :D
Taking care of business
And working overtime
Work out.
Hope all is well with your family, and I’m sure we’ll survive missing a week…or two, or even three.
You’re probably tired of me asking for it, but I still hope you make a soothe vst plugin eventually

You wanna de-harsh stuff i get. You want a tool that will make audio more suitable to the human ear’s natural harmonic and amplitude response. I understand. You wanna actually BUY soothe and support the developer.
In the meantime you can learn all you can about Psychoacoustics and you will find how to apply your current arsenal of plugins to “soothe” the sound.
Try JB_SMASH to “flatten” the harmonics that stick out much like sooth does. It is a one-of-a-kind multiband compressor with a good sound.
Obviously it is no replacement for soothe. Still, it will help you to hunt down harshness and mud and it features good mix friendly functions, like dry/wet, and awesome saturation. Its compression curves are punchy and tight, wich more than occasionally will impart a musical type “movement” that protects transients.
Try “smashing” out -3db / -6db in the range 3k – 6k with it. That will de-harsh perfectly with low attack and medium release on those bands.
Only cons is that it is CPU heavy with multiple instances, and 32bit only.
A simpler Airwindows deharsh / demud (mids and bass) Psychoacoustics plugin is therefore priceless… i do agree. Prefferably one that supresses dynamicly so tiny details keep some presence.
@ Chris
My idea for a plugin is still the “transformery” compress, saturate and color (phaseshift).
I’ve been using Thrillseeker VBL, and i can hear its not 100% authentic (or am i wrong). Still this plugin has solved some of the hardest vocal problems i’ve had to face and i use it now on almost everything. its not that it is flawless, its that it tries so very hard to deliver the benefits of passing audio through a transformer, and THAT makes it just plain USEFUL.
I mean i might not even be talking about an anally accurate transformer plugin, but one that captures the good that a transformer can do, and then be able to exaggerate it an Airwindows style.
you could drop it in 3 pieces that work together: T-Compress, T-Amp, and T-color.
The plugin should be able to revitalise a cold sound, smash warm sounds, etc.. nut mostly
I know you’ve heard what it does to sound and I’m shure everyone can agree that it is magical!!
This helped me understand better

This here is alot of reasons to do it.
I mean if it suits you and is fascinating to you too!!
I wouldn’t be surprised if there is a combination of Airwindows plugins that can already approximate that sound. I mean Varimu has some of the vibe thrillseeker does, so does hardvacuum.
Maybe all we need is a phase-smear coloring tool that can do different types and intensities of phase smearing.
