Cojones
CojonesDemo is an AU universal binary plugin to adjust just that. You can add or subtract it—listen to the demos. For voices, also raspy guitars. This is not an EQ or anything like one. Unique as far as I know.
You get Breathy, Cojones, and Body to play with. Breathy and Cojones balance against each other. Body is more of a lows fill-in.
Cojones works like this: it tracks sound looking for regularity and irregularity, and separates out some of the ‘frizz’ and irregularity in the sound. Then you get to either amplify just that raggedness and irregularity, or minimize it. Again, this doesn’t work like anything normal, so try it to see if the sound makes sense for you. I could easily see this as a secret weapon for EDM sound design!
Cojones runs one sample of latency.
Cojones is $50.
The way this animal adds depth or solidity or brightness that weren’t there before is devilish. Feels like cheating, compared to eq. Highly addictive. Behaviour surprisingly predictable. A totally unique and even more capable tone sculptifier. When eq does not deliver, Cojones walks in grinning, with an immediate “Yes, we can”. Unmatched on beatbox. Congratulations, sir Chris.
i threw dubsub and cojones on a drum loop and in less than a minute of tweaking had it sounding like a completely different and more interesting loop altogether. gone were the honk and bad resonance from the snare, with only powerful lows, mid-range smack, and aggressive but smooth highs. but it really doesn’t sound like EQ – i definitely agree with Marian that it seems like cheating. fantastic and very unique stuff!
I put Cujones in a female pop voice (quite odd…lol); the result was a breathy-round-full-live voice I’ve never heard before. It is an amazing plugin
I Deeply recommend adding “cojones” to everything, It was a game changer for me as Re-recording mixer when you’re seeking for that without a name….. Its definitely named “COJONES”.
